It is with a passion for innovation and communication that Julia Swanson has been working as a freelance photographer, writer, multimedia artist and producer for more than a decade. Creating dynamic visual, written and multimedia content Julia has been published both in print and online and has had articles and photography featured in the Somerville Journal, The Boston Globe, Hollywood Life, Artscope and SciArt Magazine.
Julia is the creator, producer and editor of the culture and innovation blog Four Letter Word, which features multimedia stories about everything from street art to technological innovation in the Greater Boston area and beyond. She is also the recipient of multiple Honorary International Photography Awards and was the winner of the Karl Lagerfeld Dom Pérignon Photography Competition in 2006 for her series of digital images titled “Dom Pérignon Abstracts.”
Julia holds a Bachelors Degree in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a certificate in photography from the New England School of Photography, and a Masters degree in journalism from Northeastern University. When not working, or immersed in a personal project Julia can be found enjoying the sights and sounds of the city, discovering new street art and exploring the local coastline.
